Viral Speak 09-14-2000
But seriously.. that ain't cool. I just got around to signing the Mythri petition. I have done my part in trying to save a great game. - The HeptagonPhilip: Now, you are human. Oh come on, video game publishers DO market their games towards younger players. It doesnt matter whether a game is given an "E", "T" or "M"... all games are marketed the same in gaming magazines and on TV. Sure, some of the "T" and "M" games are also advertised in magazines geared towards older readers but that's nothing. The industry needs to change. They shouldnt stop making the games, but ratings need to be strictly enforced. - anomynousPhilip: Actually, I think you're stupid to think that. Perfect Dark ads were in Playboy, and on television late nights on MTV, before R rated movies, and during Comedy Central. When I put a rateing on something it's so that people know. Whether a child is permitted to watch an R rated movie, read Playboy or other things like that is up to the PARENTS. You know, the people who gave birth to the people who held your test tube? Should rateings be enforced? Yes, and NO. Yes, if it's on a town to town person to person deal. NO if you want the government to control it. I don't need Lieberman telling me what I can and can not read. America doesn't need the government to tell them not to read something. People who feel the government should tell them what to read, watch, play, or do are a disgrace to the gene pool and should be shot at once. The Government needs to stay the Hell out of our personal lives. The government has already taken too many liberties. Remember seperation of Church and State? Here's the deal. That means: "No Government Church". In other words, Congress can't wake up one day and decide to declare that America is "Catholic" and that we have a national religion. It has nothing to do with prayer in schools. Prayer in schools should be be at a COUNTY level. That damn 1962 verdict gave the government enough say to push Christians down even further. Who's the most repressed ethnic group? Not gay people, not black people, not jewish people, not women. Who's the most repressed? Christians. The government hits them down at any chance. The ACLU, NOW, MANBLA, and the media themselves hit Christians down the most. It's so bad that Christians repress Christians. Look at Jerry Falwell! He's pushing Christian doctrine back into the times of the Roman Catholic Church. If I want to pray in the lunchroom. That's MY RIGHT. I don't give a *bad word* if I'm praying on school property. I don't want the government telling where I can and can not pray. I also don't want them telling me what I can and can not watch. The rateings are fine the way they are. If little Johnny buys Turok 3 at your local K-Mart.. take it up with you local K-Mart. Leave Lieberman and McCain out of it. I'm voting for Bush. He may be a whiny, spoiled, inconsiderate jerk. But at least he doesn't want to tell me what to watch. I'd rather go through an arrogant John F. Kennedy-esque President than one who envisions America as a 1982 society under watch from the internet he "built". Okay.. rant done. As you can tell.. I have no love for American Politics. The more I learn about it.. the more I despise it. It's like.. the more history and news you read.. the more saddened and angered you become at the condition of America. Although, Europe is worse... I mean.. Oil is even more expensive there. A big shout out to the protestors. Might I suggest ripping out fuel hoses, dressing up like Vikings and throwing old oil barrels and gas pumps in to the bay? Evolution is scientifically unsound, even if you don't have any religious beliefs that contradict it (I do).Philip: TK421.. you should click HERE. ICR is the best place for books, thesis, and editorials attacking and refuteing Evolution and Humanism on an astounding amount of levels. Learn up. If there was a nympho in the GB version of S:TQB, would it still be rated "E"? - Globe FlowerPhilip: Let me think.. What exactly was S:TQB? And.. I doubt a nymphomanical character would alter the rateing. Lil' Monster has some brief blood; but maintains an "E". ahhh!not pink, green!!! - titan25Philip: Green? *snickers* You're fun. ^_^ 800 reveiws!!! and im number 797!!!! without me we'd only have 799! do the wave!!!!! - jumboPhilip waves. does boinker make it into every viral speak? - Dark TerranSquishy: Nope; but Philip does. Help! Need suggestion on a GameBoy game to buy on my B-day in a couple of weeks. I have Metal Gear Solid, Pokemon, and all the usual stuff. I've got enough for two, but I'm saving the other one for Pokemon Gold. Any suggestions? - Hopeless TR FanPhilip: Oooh.. hmm.. Warlocked, Dragon Warrior 1 & 2, Blaster Master: Enemy Below, Lil' Monster (I got into it and haven't stopped to review it yet...), Alone in the Dark should be out by then. If you don't already.. Mario Golf, Bionic Commando: Elite Forces, Wario Land 3, and umm.. try Xtreme Games. The one with the anime characters.. it was plenty good at E3; but I haven't found a copy to buy!! It's out.. but it's also SOLD OUT. Monster Rancher Explorer comes out and should be interesting. I reccommend Monster Rancher Battle Card. I was playing it while my Lil' Monster (A Cuppee Dolphin thingie named Diablo) was sleeping. (Don't ask.. I'm not sure how that works.. it's not running off of normal time...) I like my killer dolphin.. but Monster Rancher gots Pixie. Oh, yeah.. and I've clocked in a strangely high amount of Street Fighter Alpha playing. Yippee! Fun things to do while reading "Oedipus Rex" aloud in small groups.Philip: When I finally get to classes; I'm going to be a damn English Major. Literature ROCKS. Books rule. Read a book today. I mean, I can not advocate books enough. Better yet, read a "Banned Book" that some libraries refuse to carry. Like "To Kill a Mockingbird", "Tom Sawyer", "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" (True! It's a banned book! Right up there with Maus 1 & 2, 1982, and Mien Kampf!!), or better yet read a book by Judy Blume, Shel Silverstine, or The Bible. The Bible is the most banned book. You'd be shocked, amazed and saddened by how many times libraries have thrown it out. Oh, another bit here. Go HERE for more information on the fight against banning books. For Mobile users.. umm.. you'll need to check these links out at our main site. Sorry. But it's all good. ^_^ I'd like to give a shout to Salohcin Geen and Philip for our agreement in Square's shying away from their former glory! Now that they're ultra-successful, their just churning out every little crappy idea they can come up with. If they'd take half the effort they put into making the great tunes, graphics, and FMVs that accompany their games, and apply it to gameplay, they could once again become the best RPG company on the planet. Sadly, the newer games, with the exception of Chrono Cross, are all fluff and no stuff ;_; Come back old Square, come back! Philip: Nintendo owns most of Square's old employees. I know some Square EA people. They cool... but Square of Japan is.. square. |
