Hey. Do the people over at Ign pocket have some strange obsession with patting their heads and rubbing their tummies? I saw the expression in 3 articles today! All reffering to the GBA's shoulder buttons, but its still kind of strange. Probably from being locked in cubicles for 8 hours a day with pokemon games... - .......................

Last week, over 150 pokemon were rescued from a house in Pallet Town. It has been reported that many of the pokemon were malnourished and some had even fainted. It is suspected that the owner, who was found several days later drunk being the Celedon Casino, was involved in an illegal pokemon fighting club. In these clubs, members force their pokemon to visciousley fight other pokemon, sometimes even causing them to faint. I just read in your daily newsity that there is some screw on the back of the GBA that changes the screen brightness. And since mine is a Japanese system, it basicly has no warranty. So can you tell me where this screw is? (I'll *test* it if you like)

Everyone has said to get headphones for the GBA.  Well, I have another solution.  If you have a reciever or radio with RCA audio inputs, you can buy a cord at wal-mart or radio shack that converts the headphone plug to RCA cables.  It works great!  You can turn the music up and it sounds like you are playing a home console.  Just thought you might like to try that. - oryan

Okay, I gotta point this out:

Sony Pictures' (Keyword "Sony") marketing department not only creates a fake critic to promote their complete dogs of movies, but also uses fake testimonials to lure in hard-to-reach demographics.

Sony Computer Entertainment (Again, keyword "Sony") inflates the specs on a certain piece of  video game hardware, and just plain acts like a pompus jackass.

So now this begs the question: If SONY Pictures made up a fake critic, could SONY Computer Entertainment be doing the same thing?  I mean, look at some of the critical quotes in VG magazines: you haven't heard of half of those websites, have you?  Also, could SCEA be putting "plants" in our schools, like that cool-kid-who-just-moved-to-town that goes around saying "Dark Cloud is the greatest game ever!  If you don't own it, you suck and don't deserve to talk to me,"?

There is something almost magical about Mr. T. I was recently in a large room with about 12 or so people from varying age groups. (I think 16 ~ 30something was the min/max) There was a lot of side conversations and such, but one man, my friend, said something about Mr. T and suddenly everybody had an opinion. Regarding the comments on Ryan's "GBA -> TV" proposition in the last VS: "Unless you have a *very* High Defination TV, don't even bother. The GBA screen is 240 X 160 pixels or 38,400 pixels total at a 16:9. It has roughly 10,560 pixels per square inch. A normal TV is 640 X 480 at 4:3. Or.. in pixels.. 2,720 per square inch. So, in other words.. unless you don't mind playing an ugly, and squashed mess.. leave GBA games on a GBA screen."

Now this is just wrong. First of all, 240 x 160 pixels does not equal a screen ratio of 16:9, it's actually 3:2. And saying that TV's 640 x 480 at 4:3 equals 2720 pixels per square inch is also incorrect in most of the cases, since TV's come in various sizes. 2720 pixels per square inch is true for televisions with a ~15" - 16" screen, but who has a television that small (poor students, maybe?-) Bigger television -> less pixels per square inch, but this whole "pixels per inch" thing isn't the real issue here and should actually be ignored completely.

The point is that the GBA screen wouldn't have to be squashed on the TV screen, it could be represented for example at 2*(240 x 160) = 480 x 320, leaving the rest of the screen black (or perhaps some kind of frames that fill the empty space could be shown, similar to the system in Super Game Boy. The game would look exactly the same as in the GBA screen, only bigger (and therefore also a bit blockier, but blocky doesn't equal squashed). It think the system would be completely workable, though a bit silly - it kind of wrecks the whole idea of portable gaming.
