"Ode to my NES" -A poem by Sarah Tomase- -Published May 25th, 2004- Oh, there once was a time One today might venture To call it a crime For I was not a denture- Wearing child, but a NES-less tyke With only a bike Oh, there once was a day When I without you did play A day I spent outdoors And actually did my chores I never knew the wonders of you Until that glorious day You appeared into view It was from then on that I began to sway My eyes grew wide And my mouth grew wet By golly, I almost cried In fact I was everything but upset With your tiny red buttons I spent hours punching away And that plus-sign looking control You were the best looking, ever-made console My mother's arms could not pry Me from my NES - God forbid I cry There was nothing she could do It was from then on I knew My beautiful gray NES I was meant to from that day on Over obsess -Poem Copyright Sarah Tomase- -Content property of Dmg Ice.Com- |
