What has Sarah been listening to lately? The Matches. You know, I realized something: A ton of my favorite bands start with the word “The”. And because you care, I am going to make a list now (knowing full well I am bound to forget a couple). Here we go! The Arcade Fire The Decemberists The Fiery Furnaces The Flaming Lips The Goo Goo Dolls The Jealous Sound The Pillows (You anime fans will appreciate. Fooly Cooly!) The Postal Service The Matches The Pixies The Shins The Weakerthans The White Stripes Others that are good include: The Books The Bravery The Album Leaf The Avalanches – Very strange. The Futureheads The Movielife The Wallflowers – By the way the book The Perks of Being a Wallflower is quite amazing. If you haven’t read it yet, what the HELL is wrong with you? The Smiths (Because I like the song “Asleep”) The song Audio Blood by The Matches reminds me of classic Weezer at this one point. You just can not miss it. The guitar solo is too short. It sends the blood surging to my head in a rush quite unlike anything else, and for those five to seven seconds, I am in a euphoric state. On a side note, one of my recent discoveries (Oh my God, this band makes gorgeous music!) is Aloha. They are absolutely brilliant. Never quit listening!
