For example, recently I started playing Pokemon Gold again. In my opinion, Pokemon has to be one of the best games ever made. Original, fun to play, even 2-player support. And it's one of a select few games I dust off every now and then.
Other Favorites:
Super Smash Bros. Melee (GC). This has to be the most fun game ever. Kicking the crap out of Nintendo characters, lost of modes and bonus stuff to unlock. This is one game I can play for hours on end.
Super Mario All Stars with Super Mario World (SNES). Five of Nintendo's best in one package. As I've said before, I love retro, and this is retro done right.
Animal Crossing (GC). One of my first GC games, an instant favorite. When I first got it, I would play it constantly. My sister even got hooked on it. Nowadays, I don't play it as often as I used to, but when I do, I set aside a good chunk of time.
Dragon Warrior Monsters (GBC) and Dragon Warrior Monsters 2 (GBC). These games build off the grand Dragon Warrior tradition, with a little Pokemon mixed in. Fun to play, and plenty of extra hidden stuff. Tons of replay value, which is rare for an RPG.
NBA Jam (SNES, Genesis). Another one of my all-time favorites. One of the best sports games ever made. It's especially fun with multiple players.
Pong (GBC). Yes, Pong. I actually bought it new for $7 at Target. It may be a bit shallow, but it's a good way to kill 10 minutes.
A good game is one you always tend to come back to after awhile. Although your tastes may not coincide with mine, there's gotta be a favorite you tend to come back to after awhile. Enjoy.
